AmyBW lets you read and write your BBS mail offline: call the BBS, download a mail packet, hang up, read and reply at leisure, and upload the replies next time. It is fully Blue Wave compatible, and it also reads QWK packets. It is free: you may copy it and pass it on, as long as you do not change the program or the archive.
The last public release of AmyBW was 2.16, Zeus Developments was passed the source code many years ago and has now picked up development again. 2.18 is a reliability and security update: 325 potential problems, mostly buffer overruns, have been corrected, packet data is now validated, and silent failures fixed. There is one new feature - timezone support. It is released as a companion to Zeus and is the reader used to test Zeus's Phoenix offline reader.
See the release announcement.
AmyBW was written by Leon Makkink, Jos van Oijen and Richard de Vos, and is now maintained by Neil Williams.
