FidoNet mail processor and reader for the Amiga
Version 1.0 beta 1 - Download - Register
SlamMail does all the work a point or a small node needs, in one MUI
program: it processes the mail your mailer receives, lets you read and write
netmail and echomail, then scans and packs your replies ready to send.
Mail processing
- Bad and PassThrough areas, routing, AKAs and all the netmail flavours
- Node groups, an address book, file attaches, file requests and .TIC files
Reading and writing
- Threads, quoting, drafts, origins, taglines, filters and message flags
- Large message bases were a developnet requirement: areas of 100,000 messages opens in seconds and needs only a few megabytes of memory
- Time zone support
- Nodelist lookups from the write window (with traplist.library)
Coming from Mail Manager
- Answers Mail Manager's ARexx commands, so your Mail Manager scripts run unchanged
- MM2SlamMail.rexx converts your Mail Manager configuration: addresses, nodes, areas, groups, tick areas, origins, signatures and user menus
And more
- An AmigaGuide manual and an ARexx reference, opened by the Help key at the window you are in
- First-run setup window for your name, address, uplink and directories
- Installer script that upgrades an existing copy and leaves your configuration and mail alone
- English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish and Welsh, following your Locale preferences - machine translated, so expect oddities - sorry!
Requirements
- AmigaOS 3.0 or newer, and MUI 3.8 or newer
- The MUI classes TextEditor, BetterString, NList and NListview
- traplist.library for nodelist lookups (optional)
- An archiver such as LhA for your bundles
